Centralia is celebrating its 100th year!

Women in the Church (WIC) is Centralia’s women’s ministry.  It is open to women of all ages, including guests, and provides opportunities for women to strengthen their relationship with God and other women through devotions, enrichment programs, fellowship and service to others.  WIC meets several times per year. A committee of women plans the programs and community service projects and involves members in preparation of devotions and refreshments for each meeting.

Examples of past programs:

  • guest speakers on physical and spiritual heart health
  • enjoying God’s handiwork through photography
  • aging gracefully
  • creating living art with succulents

Examples of past community service projects:

  • assembling care packages and writing thank you notes for soldiers
  • making fleece lap blankets for Lucy Corr Village residents
  • preparing Thanksgiving meal packages for Chesterfield/Colonial Heights Alliance of Social Ministries (CCHASM)
  • adopting families at Christmas
  • purchasing school supplies for Harrowgate Elementary School students.

In addition to WIC activities, the Ladies’ have two Ladies’ Bible Study meeting times:

  • Sunday School at 9:30 am
  • Women’s Bible Study – TBA
